Andrew Hulbert is the exited founder of Pareto, a facilities management business he started in 2014. In the podcast, Andrew says the company grew to around £42m turnover and 550 staff by the time he exited, and that the exit raised about $100m. A central part of Andrew's approach was building a people-first culture. He describes hiring for potential, adapting jobs around people's lives, rewarding positive behaviour, sharing ownership and creating a senior team with zero turnover across his ten years in the business. Since exiting operational life, Andrew has focused more of his time on family, his farm, investments and new opportunities. He also speaks openly about the psychological adjustment founders can face after selling a business and the importance of preparing for life after the deal.
