Helen's story

Helen’s career hasn’t necessarily followed a straight line, but one thing has always run through it… people.
After being headhunted at Graduate Fashion Week, her career took her from major retailers including John Lewis and Galeries Lafayette to overseeing production in China, before returning to launch her own luxury fashion label, securing celebrity customers within its first year.
That began an entrepreneurial journey spanning fashion, gifts, workwear, film and photography. Some businesses worked, some changed direction and others taught difficult lessons, but they built her.
Along the way, Helen discovered her greatest strength was people. Building genuine relationships has helped her generate millions through sales without ever considering herself a traditional salesperson.
Today, Helen co-runs Thread A Pixel and Two Krakens alongside her husband, Chris, and co-hosts Built Not Born In Business.
Behind the microphone, she’s fascinated by the person behind the business. What drives them? What did success cost them? Did it make them happy?
After more than two decades in business, Helen’s definition of success has changed too. It’s no longer just about building something bigger, but building a business that creates a life you actually want to live and enjoying the journey along the way.
